Last updated: 12 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data Atom Toys Studios collects when you visit atomtoysstudios.com, buy from us or join our list, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who we are

Atom Toys Studios is run by Atom Studios Oy (business ID 3562567-6), Piispansilta 21 A 29, 02230 Espoo, Finland. We are the data controller for the personal data described here.

Questions about privacy: info@atomtoysstudios.com

What we collect and why

When you buy something. Name, email address, delivery and billing address, phone number if you give one, what you ordered and when. We use this to process and deliver your order, send order and shipping emails, handle returns and keep the accounting records the law requires. Legal basis: performing our contract with you, and our legal obligation to keep accounting records.

Card and wallet payments are handled by Stripe and PayPal. We never see or store your full card number.

When you make an account. If you create a customer account, we keep your login email, saved addresses and order history so you can see them when you log in. Legal basis: performing our contract with you.

When you join the list. Your email address, so we can tell you about new drops and editions. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link at the bottom of every email. Legal basis: your consent.

When you email us. Your name, email address and whatever you write to us, so we can reply. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you.

When you browse the site. Technical data such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit and how you arrived. Some of this is collected with cookies (see below). We use it to keep the site and checkout working, protect forms from spam, and understand which pages people use. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure, working site; your consent for analytics and marketing cookies.

We don't sell your personal data.

Who we share it with

We only share personal data with companies that help us run the shop, and only what they need:

  • Squarespace: hosts the website, store, customer accounts and our mailing list.

  • Stripe and PayPal: process payments.

  • Postal and courier services: deliver your order (name, address, phone, parcel details).

  • Google (reCAPTCHA): protects our forms from spam.

  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram): measures how our ads perform, only if you accept marketing cookies.

  • Our accountant and the authorities, where the law requires it.

Some of these companies process data outside the EU/EEA, for example in the United States. When that happens, the transfer is protected by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Cookies

  • Essential cookies keep your cart, checkout and login working. These are always on.

  • Analytics cookies (Squarespace) count visits and show which pages are used.

  • Marketing cookies (Meta Pixel) tell us whether our Facebook and Instagram ads lead to visits and sales.

Analytics and marketing cookies are only set if you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie Preferences button on the site, or by clearing cookies in your browser.

How long we keep it

  • Order and payment records: 6 years after the end of the financial year, as required by the Finnish Accounting Act.

  • Customer account: until you ask us to delete it.

  • Mailing list: until you unsubscribe.

  • Emails with us: as long as needed to answer you, then up to 2 years.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • show you the personal data we hold about you

  • correct anything that's wrong

  • delete your data, unless the law requires us to keep it (for example accounting records)

  • limit or object to how we use it

  • send your data to you or to another company in a usable format

  • withdraw your consent at any time, for example by unsubscribing from the list

Email info@atomtoysstudios.com and we will answer within one month.

If you think we've handled your data wrongly, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman in Finland (tietosuoja.fi).

Children

Our pieces are collectibles for people aged 16 and over. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update it on this page and change the date at the top.
