We've received many questions about how we packaged our Joy Boy Mini and would like to share our process for everyone who would like to package their own items at-home in a professional manner!

The Packaging Process: Behind the Scenes

Each Joy Boy Mini comes in a custom blister pack, designed to highlight the art toy while staying true to our handmade, small-batch ethos. Here's how we do it:

1. Creating a Blister Mold

We start by 3D printing the form for the blister using a resin printer. This model determines the exact shape of the plastic shell. A small tip: add tiny ventilation holes around tight fold points to help the plastic form smoothly. Prefer working with natural materials? You can also use wood or other sturdy alternatives to shape your mold.

2. Thermoforming with Mayku

To form the plastic blister, we use the Mayku Vacuum Former with a 200mm x 200mm bed. Timing is key here- heating the plastic just enough to create a perfect seal around the mold. It’s a bit of a dance, but when it clicks, the result is that smooth, clear contour that shows off the toy while protecting it.

3. Assembling the Packaging

Once the plastic blisters are formed and the cards are printed, we carefully apply spray adhesive to the rim of each blister and align it onto the card backing. This step is all about precision. A clean, secure bond means your Joy Boy Mini stays safe and display-ready.

4. Trimming the Final Product

Finally, we use a paper cutter to clean the edges and a round cutter to soften the corners of each pack. It’s a subtle touch that makes a big difference, giving each piece a polished, pro-level finish.
